You don't OP. You're old enough now, you've had more than your fair share of vidya game experience. You're wise to the illusion, you don't see the graphics and setting, you see the engine. At a certain point after you enlightenment to the truth that video games are, in fact, for children, it becomes pathetic to continue playing them. Its time for you to embrace more adult things, which are more complex and engrossing.

He can enjoy them for about an hour. And if a dramatically new genre of game comes out, he could probably binge on it. But at a certain point its just not fun any more, the same old system of gameplay with new graphics. Not that complex, not that rewarding in any useful way.

>Old build: low height limit, no hunger but sparse forestry and dark nights

It’s good for a basic port. The controls are a tad fidgety, but tolerable. The map-size is shit, however: You won’t be exploring the surface and there’ll never be a need for boats.

Does anyone know if local co-op has consistent saves for additional players?

>In 2009, a twenty-something female joined Osaka-based game developer Capcom. The new employee was assigned to a couple of different games before becoming a member of the team developing Dragon's Dogma, Capcom's upcoming big budget title.

>At first things were good. But by that December, things got awful—really awful. According to a recently released lawsuit, the new employee apparently felt so bullied at Capcom that she tried to take her own life.

>A senior female employee was assigned to the Dragon's Dogma team, and this senior employee apparently made the young woman's life miserable. Her new boss supposedly reprimanded only her at meetings and assigned the young woman impossible tasks with zero instructions on how to complete them.

>In the court filing, the senior employee's behavior was described as "irrational" and "repeated". The young employee felt isolated on the Dragon's Dogma team.

>The young employee thought the best way she could help Capcom was to create a database to help internal game development become more efficient. It was a huge project, and the young employee's superiors signed off on the project, realizing how important it could be. She thought by creating the database, she could show her worth to the Dragon's Dogma team. In addition to her regular work, the young employee slogged away on the database, working every day in July and August 2010 well into the night.

>Then, suddenly, on October 6, 2010, the young woman was yanked from the Dragon's Dogma team. The database was reassigned to another department. Her boss apparently said, "Even if the database is a success, you are worthless to the team."

>Between October 20 and November 4, two other superiors began attempting to get the young employee to quit, saying "she's problematic", "she abandons her work", "she skips meetings", and "her ideas stink". It got so bad that the young employee supposedly went to Capcom's HR claiming harassment. HR did nothing.

No.130282[Reply]

So I've been fucking around with Postal 2 and I figured I'd post some info if anyone's interested in playing:

1) it has both native windows and linux clients

2) the Linux one needs OSS sound, unless your ALSA wrapper works properly (use terminal to see if it's opening the sound properly, and if it's not, go to the official OSS site as Synaptic doesn't build the modules)

3) I think both the Linux and Windows ones get more FPS under OpenGL if in the postal2.ini file you set CacheSizeMegs=64 under engine controller and MaxTextureUnits=64 and VARSize=64 under the OpenGL options if your gpu has 64+ texturing units (I even managed to get basically double FPS by setting it from 8 to 16 on an Intel GMA 945)

4) FOV is set manually, easiest way is to go into the user.ini after starting the game once and changing the default and preferred FOV to 106 if you're on 16:9 or 101 if you're on 16:10. Since A Week in Paradise doesn't have the option in user ini, you have to go into console with ~ and enter fov xxx, where xxx is your desired fov. I think it sticks, you may need to be in admin mode.

5) Resolution needs to be set manually, in the awp.ini if you're running AWP you just go down to the Windows or SDL client and set the fullscreen resolution.

6) The game supports forced pretty settings using overrides in both AMD and NVidia driver dialogs

7) MarkC's Windows 7 mouse accel patch is a MUST, because Windows changed the way it handled basic input. If you don't use it, the game has forced mouse acceleration.

8) I don't know if there's a menu mouse speed settings in the inis, or if there's a gui scaling option, but it's not that big of a deal. Normal mouse sensitivity is in the options.

9) I'd recommened playing "Postal 2" first, as AWP adds weapons and limb features which cause unbalance in the former case, or crash out the game in the latter. I couldn't even get the original week without enhancements to load using AWP

10) In the performance options, infinite view distance, highest settings for textures, lower settings for fire/smoke density, and 50 bystanders, 20 corpse, and 5 ragdolls seems to be a good balance. Higher ragdoll count has a chance of crashing out the game, and it seems lower does too if you are playing AWP (it has lots of explosives so many people die at once and float)

11) The options are separate for each game in the Fudge Pack bundle, so sadly the resoluPost too long. Click here to view the full text.
